Non-non Pink Ver. 1/7

Another one of favourites coming up here. Non-non is an original character design from the artist Shunya Yamashita. He is famous for his beautiful artwork of sexy women and creating characters for the Final fantasy series. This figure itself comes in different colour schemes, the original which is a dark pink and dark blue, the pink version which is the one I own, and the black version. Though different colours all of them are in the same pose as the original artwork.

As you can see the pose from the original artwork is very well represented on this particular figurine. The prototype shown in most places seems to have more colour to it than the actual product, as in the pink in the dress is more present and noticeable whereas an actual fact it is quite fait. Her stand shows lovely oriental style patterns which i really like, the plain black stands that most figures are subjected to really down the quality if you ask me. In the original the back of the dress is long, but in this (and the black) it is short as to show off her panties! >>; This may be a plus for some, a minus for others. Either way I find her to be a stunning figure, I love the pink theme and I prefer this over the black or the original. Her sword can easily be slipped into her hands as the top of it comes off,  it was also clean and simple to attach her to the stand.

I was quite surprised at how lovely the detail was on her face. I love the expression, rather provocative but at the same time capturing that sexy feel without being dirty or perverted which I find very appealing. Her eyes are just gorgeous, I love the long lashes and the detail put into them, this really adds marks onto this figure for me.

Overall score: 8.5/10

If your thinking of buying this figure remember that it is available in different colours, to my knowledge there are also resin figures available of Non-non in the original artwork of the pink version.

Final Fantasy X-2 Yuna 1/6

Quite a common figure this one. I’m sure any fan of the final fantasy figurines has come across this one many times before. This was actually the first ever figure I bought! It was many years ago, and at the time the figure was actually quite expensive but these days it only keeps falling in price. As it is quite a cheap figures, most people believe it to be of low quality, but I am here to speak the truth!!

Here is the full picture of my Yuna figure. As you can see she is almost exactly like the prototype picture that is shown by most sellers and stores. Her pose flows quite well and looks very natural. As far as her side-skirt goes I feel the colouring is a little too dark as in-game it is a much lighter blue. Her top is probably the best part of the figure as it provided great detail in the pink lace and has a very realistic feel with the provided creases fitting the pose. Her guns are also very high in detail and I was very impressed with them.

Well . . as you can see the close up of her face is nothing to shout about. This to me is where the figure has let me down a bit, she virtually has no facial expression at all unfortunately. The eyes have almost no detail and look very bland, the lips also seem to look too thin in my opinion. On the positive side I feel the structure of the face and the placement of its features match Yuna to a T. Another thing I admire is the lovely detail put onto her small earring, though apart from those points I can’t say I’m too happy about the face.

Overall score: 7/10

If your a big fan of Yuna don’t let the cheap price put you off in this case, your getting a really good price for a really beautiful figure.

Dynasty Warriors 6 Chibi figurines (Diao Chan & Zhang Liao)

After Dynasty Warriors 6 was released, chibi figurines of a few select characters were also released in two volumes. For those who live in the U.K they were offered as a pre-order bonus on GAME.co.uk of Dynasty Warriors strikeforce (PSP). Zhang Liao was part of Vol 1. and I got him for free when I pre-ordered the game, Diao Chan is part of Vol.2 and I bought her for about £10 on Ebay.

These chibi figures are very small, so unless there is chibi of your favourite a character then there’s not much point in getting one. They are very cute, epically ones of pretty tough looking warriors! They are squeee worthy! The detail put into the figures is actually really good considering their small size! Diao Chan  particularly very bright and colourful, so if she is one of your top characters, at such a cheap price then I recommend buying it.

Isn’t he cute?! (Sorry about the rather crooked image, just my bad photography skills!)  I am most impressed by the detailing on his armour! Being so small I would have guessed he would be simply painted grey, but in fact all the indentations are present. His expression is also very nice, just the mix of him looking so tough and angry on a chibi figure is really appealing!

Overall score: 6/10

The reason I have scored them quite low is basically just because of their size. I would LOVE a large scale figure of a Dynasty Warriors girl, maybe next time though! If you love the games and the characters, since they’re so cheap just get one! 😀

p.s I will be getting the Chibi Kunoichi Figure from Samurai Warriors 3.

Gothic Lolita Ver. Haruhi

Firstly, I’d like to say I’m not a big fan of Haruhi, and personally I don’t see what the big fuss is about the anime, I wasn’t captivated by it in the slightest. However!, when I saw this Gothic Lolita Haruhi figure I was quite impressed! Mostly because the dress she is wearing is highly detaild and very beautiful. The usual yellow hair-band she wears is replaced with a black one sporting lovely red roses.

Here is a picture of my actual Gothic Lolita Haruhi figurine. On a high note, she is very similar to the prototype which most stores and sellers display! Usually prototypes are of a far higher quality than the actual product which can lead to disappointment when buying online. Online is the only way I can buy figures as the ones I’m interested in are only available in Japan at most times, and that’s why I have a big issue with the prototypes, it makes sense to compare them to the product I have received and let others know what to expect!

Haruhi is very detailed around her dress, showing small creases and frills really created a beautiful effect. Despite this, her face is nothing to be praised, her eyes are dull as if they are just stickers. They aren’t of course, but they just look lifeless, I’m thinking a more interesting expression on her face would have made the figure much nicer. Her mouth is not the best either, it basically looks like a big smudge of red, which of course is supposed to be her smile though it just looks rather strange for the theme of the figure. Perhaps a more cutsie looking pose and face would have been more appropriate?

One thing I really appreciate about this figurine is the engraved plaque on the stand! It just gives the figure this important expensive feel, and really gives it that extra something. The stand itself fit the figure perfectly and I had no problem fixing the actual figure onto it.

Overall score: 7/10

I really recommend this to big fans of Haruhi! There are many figures of the character out these, but I think this one is worth the slightly steeper price!

First Review! Lineage II Elf

Well for my first review, I decided to go for my latest figure, The Lineage II Elf. When I saw the prototype for this figure I was blown away at how amazing it looked, however upon reading information on the creators, a lot of people were wary of purchasing her because often Orchid Seeds prototypes are far higher quality than the actual product. In a risky move I decided to pre-order her anyway, coming in at £90. This figure has now been released.

This is the photo of my actual figure. As you can tell, she is not as perfected as the prototype. Even so, I expected low quality, but I was pleasantly surprised when she finally arrived. The detailing in her face is excellent, the painting for her lips was very slightly inaccurate, but overall I was very pleased.

This figure can be taken apart and re-assembled so that you may display her with or without her skirt and jacket. As you can see I display her without the jacket, but with the skirt, but that’s just my personal preference. Taking her apart was quite tricky, her arms, head and chest all come apart. This positive thing is that when she is reassembled, the locations where she is separated are hardly noticeable.

The problem I had with this figure was the stand. The stand itself is quite nice, however even now I have trouble getting her to fit onto it, its as if it was faulty. Like most figures she has holes in her feet where the stand fits, however i felt those holes were too small, and spaced too far apart for the figure. I cannot seem to get the nooks from the stand to fit all the way into the feet, which means she is a little unbalanced and comes away from the stand quite easily.

As you can see I have also displayed my figure with her “Staff”. she comes with an optional sword, which I really didn’t see the point in as it does not fit so well with the character, just because the staff is of matching colours where the sword is not. It was also very difficult to fit the staff into her hand, and actually the staff is VERY sharp!

overall score: 9/10
